We provide to prospective clients the full spectrum of available markets while pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of each. Service
We pride ourselves on responding quickly to our client's needs. As a broker, we are the intermediary between you and the underwriter, so sometimes patience is required while the underwriters make their evaluations and decisions. What we promise to do is get back to you in a very short time from when you have contacted us. If we have not achieved resolution to an issue, we will keep you abreast of developments through the courtesy of a prompt phone call. Stocked with seasoned professionals, at the Physicians Advocate, you will enjoy the high level of responsiveness that you expect and require. Also, we work with the senior levels of the insurers we represent, often the Chief Underwriting Officer or the President of the insurer. If we do not feel you have received a favorable or reasonable response from an underwriter, we will seek appeal at the higher levels to ensure your best result.
Our Staff
Christopher Prestera, JD, CPCU, is President of The Physicians Advocate. Our firm specializes in serving physicians and other healthcare providers in the Medical, Life Sciences and Managed Care industries. Chris has worked in all aspects of the insurance industry beginning his career as a malpractice underwriter in NY to senior management with insurers and brokers over the past 23 years. Along the way, he was also able to collect his CPCU designation, secure his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and he has passed the bar exam in two states.
Steven Demby has been engaged in Financial Services for over 20 years. With an MBA from the University of Rhode Island, he has acquired senior level experience in Commercial Banking, Investments and Insurance. He has also been involved in extensive international business travel and enjoys many languages and cultures.
Blair MacKinnon has 11 years of business consulting experience in the marine and hospitality industries. He received his Bachelors degree in Economics from Carleton University. He will be heading up The Physicians Advocate's sister company Bimini Insurance.
